Studio PAD

Tuileries Garden

This year 2022 marks the great return of PAD Paris, which took place in the Garden of the Tuilleries from 5th to 10th April.
On this occasion, OITOEMPONTO was delighted to welcome you on the STUDIO PAD, which we have designed as a Jewel-box of white lacquer, rosewood with brushed stainless steel accents.
We wanted to pay a joyful tribute to the sets of the great French comedies of the 70’s. These films, which portrayed a very Pompidou-style bourgeois modernity, juggled with new forms and materials, high-quality 18th century furniture and flamboyant works of art.

A Playboy’s Room

For the 4th consecutive year, OITOEMPONTO participates to AD Interiors. For this edition on the theme of “Raw and precious”, Jacques Bec and Artur Miranda present the room of a Playboy. Like a folding screen, the fords of a wallpaper close the space, ornamented with a lustful nocturnal forest. Realized by OITOEMPONTO in collaboration with de Gournay this motive breathes the intimacy and invites to daydreaming, it spreads up to the hand-painted and embroidered silk curtains. Everything is only games of contrasts and concordances between this abundant exotic ornament and classic architecture of the room, between doors lacquered in black from the 40’s – Ruhlmann door writs – and arcs of windows from the 17th century on the opposite wall. The whole set, Pierre Frey fabrics to the contemporary furniture designed by OITOEMPONTO and composed among others iconic furniture such as a 18th century dresser, a sofa from the 60’s by Adrian Pearsall, chairs by Aldo Tura, Paolo Buffa’s armchairs and Mark Brazier-Jones celebrates «La Haute Décoration». The photographic presence of Vanessa Beecroft and Umberto Mariani’s lead canvas bring a contemporary and brutalist reading to this luxurious space.

"Le Boudoir en Panoramique"

Artur Miranda and Jacques Bec present “Le Boudoir en Panoramique” inspired by Mata Hari. Frivolous, glamour, vintage and devastating chic interweave in a flamboyant setting. “NAMBAN” handmade wallpaper, realized in the collaboration of De Gournay, each artwork is unique. Offering a Japanese art deco-style’s panoramic with golden glimmers, the wallpaper and the extraordinary Tai Ping’s carpet make up the master’s pieces of the set. On the ground, the black and dense material made of Lurex, tencel and piece of silk, intertwines a gold thread hair. The density and the intensity of the material are unique, each piece carefully takes shape. All the sophisticated furniture, from the Ettore Sottsass’ table to the Patrice Dangel’s chandelier, the OITOEMPONTO’s creations to the Paul Haustein and Roger Capron’s vases make up, between others, a mystical journey. In a fatal production, the masculine spy Mata Hari’s spirit hypnotizes.

Urban Zoo

Urban Zoo is the reflection of OITOEMPONTO’s universe. The project is a successful mix of furniture by the leading designers of the 1940s to 1970s, delightfully and harmoniously rubbing shoulders with numerous creations by OITOEMPONTO as well as a very selective array of works of art and unique pieces from reputed designers.
A huge vintage sofa designed by the American Adrian Pearsall inviting us to contemplation. Walls structured by seventies polycarbonate arches open to reveal a collection of silver animal objects.
This spectacular space renews with a chic jet set. It refers to the decors of James Bond as much as the Elysian salons from the Georges Pompidou era.
Turtle, ducks, and storks set in sterling silver and semiprecious stones define a picturesque bestiary. There are around 30 rare pieces of the Portuguese goldsmith Luiz Ferreira (1909-1994), dating from 1960 - 1970, exhibited by OITOEMPONTO. These decorative objects inspired by nature bring a baroque touch to the serene lounge.

The Connected Office

OITOEMPONTO’s founders, Artur Miranda and Jacques Bec point out that "nowadays, people are used to work from their homes. Therefore, we had to adapt offices into private interiors. Not only worktop or computer table, but real living spaces, where clients can hold their appointments". Based on these observations, both designers imagined the office of a woman trader whose eyes are perpetually fixed on the flow of the stock exchange. They dedicated to her a desk in the finest of woods, concealing video screens in surface mirrors. This unique piece emanates a retro-futurist luxury highlighted by, the Paco Rabanne 70s armchairs facing the desk, the 1950s Atom console on the side of the room or a painting by Robert Rauschenberg on the wall. The atmosphere is cosy, the technology knows how to make itself discrete: the leather sheathed slat blinds fold depending on the luminosity outside. Note that this hybrid office is also a powder-room table, one of the drawers is dedicated to make-up and the screens, once turned-off, become mirrors. Long live the woman trader of the XXIst century!
